Dentist's have a great model for client care. They schedule a cleaning on your teeth twice a year, every six months. In that time the dentist thorough assess for any problems and maintains the quality of your teeth. They may even offer a few pointers, recommendations, or reminders on maintaining a healthy lifestyle that helps your teeth to last for a long time.








Currently, therapist operate from the medical model. You have a problem and the doctor offers treatment. We would be wise to offer the dental approach to therapy. Come in and have a trained professional assess for anxiety, depression, relational distress, and other potentially harmful mental health experiences.
Therapist can then offer a few follow up appointments for any life "cavities" or offer recommendations and reminders for a healthy lifestyle. There may be times were life "root canals" or longer term care, such as life "braces", will need to be applied to support clients through a current crisis. Some of these problems just happen. Sometimes they can be prevented through maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I advocate for my clients to take a preventative and proactive approach to their mental health to be prepared for whatever life may throw at them.
